4th of July playlist

The Freaking Fourth of July!

(I know this post is kinda late. Like I said, I’m working like a mad woman trying to get this crusty blog UP TO DATE.)

When I think of the Fourth of July I think of my small hometown’s 4th of July celebrations at the old high school football field. There was always a caravan that handed out free watermelon. There was a DJ of sorts in the announcer stand of the football field who would blast lots of 90s country. There were relay races involving grocery carts (super random memory, I know), a dunk tank, and face painting. Every family would bring a blanket and watch the fireworks.

Ohhhh, the charm of small hometown 4th of July celebrations.

These days my family usually celebrates in my parent’s back yard, with food, ice cold soda, while we blare music and have water balloon fights and my brother Blake sets off his only little yard fireworks. Cozy and chill.

Plus, Fourth of July is allllll about that red gingham which I LOVE.

So, allow me to “play it again Sam” on ya’ll and share my playlist on this here internet.
