an anniversary breakfast in pretty patriotic prescott

David and I escaped the insane July heat (ugh–hottest July on record) and fled to the mountains to my favorite, darling place: Prescott, AZ. The day before was our second (two years! Gasp!) wedding anniversary and we’ve kinda made it a THANG to make a pilgrimage to where we got married.

July 4th is also when they hold their town’s celebration called Frontier Days so it’s extra festive. Ugh, I love this place. So damn charming, I DIE.

The recently unveiled memorial of the 19 Hotshots who died ten years ago. They all hailed from Prescott.

Courthouse Square was having a big arts and crafts show along with some snow cone and lemonade stands. It was even crazy hot in the mountains so this frozen lemonade was our savior on the scorching afternoon.

sentimental anniversary breakfast

My favorite wedding memory was actually the morning after–our first morning married.

We got married on the front porch of a darling historic yellow house that was an Air B&B so we got married and spent our wedding night there as well. It is right next door to one of my favorite little diners in Prescott, Berry’s Pie Pantry. We actually served their cherry pie at our wedding dinner. Their cherry pie is the best in the land, maybe the world LOL.

Anyway, we spent the morning munching on Rainier cherries on the porch swing and then we strolled next door to the diner for breakfast. I had ordered the Flannel Cakes with strawberries and cream. And they were utterly deeeee-vine. So we kinda started doing that as a tradition. We make it back to Berry’s Pie Pantry for breakfast, and we order the Flannel Cakes with strawberries and cream, and then say hello to our yellow wedding house.

Well hello there, wedding house:)

pretty patriotic houses

I adore the historic homes and neighborhoods in Prescott. Especially in July, with all of the bunting. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

Xoxo
