The Halloween Shop Around// ONLINE!

Halloween!

Yes it is August but here I am, waiting on all things pumpkin spice.

I am a methodical festive freak, and quite reverential about my traditions. One of those traditions? Initiating any season with serious online/window/impulse shopping. I am NOT one of those cranky types who say “Why is Halloween in stories? It’s only July…blah blah blah.”

No. No. No. Not this basic white broad!

In fact, I have a list I keep in my Notes app on my phone of ALL of the online holiday shops that I peruse one by one, saving my favorites to a secret Pinterest board wishlist. I’ll even make a party of it and crack open a cold Diet Coke while I peruse, pretending I have thousands of dollars to blow on holiday decor. Ugh. If only I could have a couple grand to blow on holiday decor, every holiday, every year. I don’t ask for much, please, universe, PLEASE???

Online shopping is essentially “pre-game” for me, that hypes me up for the real deal of flocking to my nearest strip mall with all of my favorite stores–Target! World Market! Home Goods! Oh my! I just revel in all the fun, noisy, whimsical decor.

*Far away, sentimental stare, remembering Target at Halloween time*

ANYWAY.

Onto my favorite Halloween picks from all of my favorite online shops.

Ta-freaking-da!

Target

Target typically arrives to the Halloween scene later because of Back to School season. So I always check out their Hide and Eek on the website for a sneak peek but then usually sprint to Target at my first chance to see everything displayed. They are also a tad slow adding their stock to the website. SUCH a drip feed, ugh! However, I get a slight introduction online to see if it’s going to be a good or meh Target Halloween that year, but then go in store to see everything displayed. It’s just so…so…so…. magical. I’m like a child and push ALL of the buttons on ALL of the decor like a ten year old.

I am loving the new Lewis guy which is a repeat from last year. I’m also loving the new neon green decor that Target has come out with this year as well. Eek!

Bath & Body Works

First, it is officially fall when Bath & Body Works says it’s fall. Once that Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin lotion/soap/candles hit the shelves, that’s it, it’s Fall Ya’ll! I walk into the shop, and that first whiff of pumpkin is like this euphoric WELCOME HOME YOU BASIC BROAD, and I giddily and promptly accept a basket from the floor associate and dorkily hum as I throw in a new lotion, soap, and candle, without any sudden awareness of my bank account or credit score.

But really. I SMOTHER myself in Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin all fall, and it only comes off when I wash it off with cousin scent “Purr-fect Pumpkin”soap LOL.

West Elm

I’ve been loving the vintage/classic Halloween look recently which involves paper goods, such as these honeycomb pumpkins. Also, how freaking adorable are these trick or treaters bed sheets and door mats? Changing one’s bed sheets is not just exclusive to Christmas, I see.

Kirklands

Loving the ghosts and the witch’s broom the most, here.

Sur La Table

One day, I will officially invest in a pumpkin pot to cook all of the soup recipes I snatch from Pinterest. One day, one fine pumpkin day.

Mud Pie

The mugs! The earrings! The honeycomb ghosts! The candy corn baby pj’s! I want it….allllll.

Bonjour Fete

Okay this here online shop, http://www.bonjourfete.com has all of the boutique Halloween decor that I love and hopefully one day can afford LOL.

World Market

World Market is always a fun place to pop in for the holidays. The two nearest brick and mortar stores have closed by me so getting to a World Market is a journey anymore, she says with a sigh. Luckily their online inventory typically matches what they have in the actual store. Why do some stores not do this? It drives me crazy!

Oriental Trading

Sometimes cheap Halloween decor just feels so nostalgic, maybe it reminds me of Halloween classroom parties, or cheap gag gifts. I will say Halloween is probably the ONE holiday super cheap holiday decor looks fun and looks good. Other holidays, I usually am not so keen, but Halloween dollar store or discount decor can be pretty fun, like Oriental Trading’s Halloween.

Williams Sonoma

One day I just want to order an entire layer cake and prettily packaged bags of candy from Williams Sonoma. Maybe wear a fur coat and stroke my pearls as I push the “add to cart” button LOL.

Grandin Road

Okay. Grandin Road is quintessentially “how the other half lives” in holiday decor. It is UNREAL how expensive this shop is. But it’s still complete eye candy to scroll through. I mean, what other shop has a life size vampire for near four thousand dollars?

The Holiday Barn

The holiday barn! Side note–why do so many stores go with “barn” as part of their name? The Dress Barn. The Burger Barn. That and “world.” And “planet.” But! This is one of my favorites. They sell all of the amazing holiday artists like Joanna Parker and Bethany Lowe. Everything looks so vintage and whimsical.

Meri Meri

Of course, the darling French party supply store! Such a whimsical little shop. Their cupcake toppers are literally always sold at Home Goods for some reason LOL.

Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel is a nice shop and all but a wee bit minimalist for my taste.

My Mind’s Eye

Ok this is quickly becoming one of my favorite online shops! They have THEE most amazing party paperie selection. Like the paper plate selection is no joke LOL. Never thought I would say something like that? That haunted house in the center here? That is a PAPER PLATE! Lots of cute/classic/whimsical holiday and party supply store.

IN LOVE!

I’m so excited for this year’s Halloween season! I’m especially excited to celebrate Ollie’s first Halloween! A holiday with a baby, how freaking adorable this is going to be!

Happy Halloween (online) haunting, online friends 🙂
